Title of Position: Administrative Director of Development  and Foundation

Basic Functions:

The Administrative Director of Development and Foundation oversees all aspects of the agency’s fundraising, volunteer, Foundation and donor communications efforts. Working closely with the Executive Director and the St. Aloysius Board of Trustees and the Foundation Board, the Administrative Director of Development and Foundation is a highly visible leader and spokesperson for the agency and is responsible for growing all charitable giving to the organization. Additionally, the Wedding Chapel at St. Aloysius operationally reports to the Development Manager who in turn reports to the Development and Foundation Administrative Director.

 Requirements:

Master’s degree in business or relevant field preferred, Bachelors in business or related field required.

  • Demonstrated history of fundraising success through progressively more demanding and larger organizations
  • Proven success with grant writing, with demonstrated success with obtaining grants from government sources, financial institutions, private foundations and other philanthropic organizations
  • Proven track record with successful management of major donor giving
  • A minimum of five years development experience in a leadership role
  • Experience utilizing development/gift recording software, i.e. Raisers Edge preferred
  • Very strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong community relationships within the Greater Cincinnati philanthropic community strongly preferred
  • Interacts with external entities, routinely attending community councils and other stakeholder meetings potentially in Hamilton, Butler and Clermont Counties

Duties and Functions:

  • Oversight of all operational duties of the Development Department and Foundation including but not limited to:
    • Development and management of departmental annual budget(s)
    • Development and management of annual operational and strategic goals for Development and Foundation including
      • Formal fundraising plan for Development Department and Foundation. The plan, which is updated annually, includes income from annual fund, special events, solicitations, capital campaign, in-kind donations and grant writing
    • Supervision of Development Department management staff, contracted grant writer and other contracted expert staff.
    • Provides senior leadership as the sponsor of the Grants Steering Committee providing oversight of the grant writing functions, grant reporting and day to day oversight of grants received.
    • Oversight of all special events related to fund raising and children’s activities including Christmas and other holiday campaigns in and outside of the building
  • Develops and manages donor communications plan in all forms – personal, presentations, written and web based
  • Acts as a primary liaison (along with the Executive Director) of St. Aloysius to build and maintain community and donor relationships.
  • Performs staff management functions for St. Aloysius Foundation Board
